Sri Lankan Muslims condole the passing of Pope Francis
In a letter of condolence addressed to Archdiocese of Colombo ,they said : ” We pray for those hearts aching in his absence all over the world to find ease during this difficult time, especially your eminence and the Catholic Community in Sri Lanka.
Pope Francis was a towering spiritual leader whose tireless work transcended borders, generations, and faiths. He expended his actions and words to preserve human life and dignity whilst embodying the high ideals of compassion and justice. In a world divided, in unrest and facing unjust conflict, he struggled for every human being calling for an end to human suffering regardless of faith or circumstance reminding us all, the true nature of God’s work. His voice was unmistakably resolute, speaking for the betterment of the oppressed and those in need which was clear in his address on Easter as well. His passing leaves a void that the world will find hard to ignore and we hope that his legacy carries on.
As much as it seems a loss there is much to gain from his life’s work, and we believe people around the world will celebrate his contributions and be inspired to live up to his values as a way of showing respect and gratitude. Undoubtedly, his legacy built on exemplary principles of compassion, dignity, and unity towards building a just and fair world will inspire us and future generations to come.”
